Vostok-Europe Energia

Named for and inspired by the world’s most powerful booster rocket, the Energia, this new watch from Vostok-Europe is the brand’s most exciting release since the Lunokhod 2.

The standout feature for this new aggressive timepiece from Vostok-Europe is the way the tritium tubes are mounted. Tritium uses radio-luminescence to provide constant illumination in any lighting condition with laser-sealed glass tubes that can last up to 25 years. In the case of the Energia, these tubes are fixed in v-shaped mirrors that provide maximum glow by reflecting the entire tube. This ensures you’ll get the most out of the lume each tube provides.

At 48mm across and 18mm thick, the Energia case is imposing on the wrist to say the least. The two split-lug interchangeable straps are made of pre-aged leather and top-quality silicon. Other features include 300 meters of water resistance, making this a professional grade diver’s watch and three case material options. This is the second line from Vostok-Europe to come in a marine bronze case, which ensures each watch will patina to a unique look. There are also offerings in surgical grade stainless steel and titanium. Retailing just under $1,000, the Energia is available at www.detentewatches.com.
