Marcel Nguyen, medalist at the 2012 London Olympics in gymnastics, was named last September as the new Ernest Borel Global Brand Ambassador. However, the relationship between the athlete and the traditional Swiss watchmaker Ernest Borel started already at the beginning of the year, when Marcel paid a visit at the 2013 Baselworld fair.
This first appearance of the charismatic and talented gymnastics world rising star from Germany marked the launch of an exciting new page in the long history of the Swiss brand from the Jura Mountains. During this very symbolic day, Marcel Nguyen was introduced to Ernest Borel’s President, Mr. Raphaël Boillat, who presented him the elegant and technical new collections of the romantic brand.
Under the eyes and cameras of amazed visitors and journalists, the German Prince of Gymnastics showed a remarkable enthusiasm and deep interest for the new sophisticated and elegant timepieces of the 157 year Swiss watchmaking brand as well as its impressive new booth. The charisma and grace of the 25 year old athlete echo perfectly to the classic and romantic style of Ernest Borel.
