For the second year in a row, Luxury watch replica brand Richard Mille served as the title partner for the annual Rallye Des Princesses, the only international road rally exclusively raced by women. In this year’s edition, 90 crews representing 9 different nationalities braved the stormy weather and friendly competition as they journeyed from Paris to Saint-Tropez.
The challenging, 1,6000 km rally is conducted on public roadways and features a wide range of historic cars, from pre-war collectables, to more recent “Classic” category vehicles from the likes of Ferrari, Porsche and Jaguar.

After a damp start, the contestants finally saw sunshine on June 2nd, for the final leg of the race, which took them from Pont-Royal to the place des Lices in Saint-Tropez. The winning team for 2016 was Marie-Christine Perin and Véronique Morel-Lab (Austin Innocenti n° 70). In the ‘Classic’ category, first place went to the Caterham manned by Servane
Gabillon and Chantal Duc Dodon.
This year’s edition of the race began on the elegant place Vendôme in Paris on May 29th, where participants were greeted with torrential rain and unfavorable racing conditions. While there were doubts as to whether the event would continue, they were quickly cast aside by Viviane Zaniroli, the event’s organizer.“The Princesses have once again acquitted themselves of challenges which, while very handsome, were particularly demanding. Despite exceptionally difficult racing conditions for this time of year, they showed extraordinary spirit in persevering with the adventure, says Zaniroli.”
