Richard Mille RM 35-02 Rafael Nadal

Richard Mille’s collaboration with Rafael Nadal, the RM 35-02 was released this year and is one more watch in the historic partnership between the watchmaker and the tennis star.

The watch is innovative, very light and shock-resistant, mirroring what Nadal needs in one of his tennis matches. Included is a free sprung balance with improved reliability when subjected to shock and during movement assembly and disassembly. This results in better chronometric results over time. The design is inspired by the RM 35-01 and is in response to Richard Mille customers wanting a self-winding mechanism with the Nadal caliber.

The case is made from NTPT® Carbon and Quarts-TPT® Red, which are exclusive materials with a unique appearance. They are composed of multiple layers of parallel filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibers or silica threads. These layers are put in resin then woven and heated to 120 degrees Celsius and are processed on a CNC machine in the watchmaker’s factory.

The screws used are in Grade 5 titanium and are unaffected by the manufacturing of the watch. Richard Mille is dedicated to finding and using the best and most innovative materials in their timepieces, which is why the Nadal piece is a great step in their partnership with the tennis player.
