Porsche Design: CEO Christian Kurtzke Talks Debuts and Inspiration

In late 2014, Porsche Design established Porsche Design Timepieces AG in Solothurn, Switzerland. Thus, the company is poised to push the design and production envelope even further and offer top-quality timepieces with Porsche heritage at an attractive price, according to Christian Kurtzke, CEO of the Porsche Design Group. The company has since launched two new watch collections, featuring over 30 individual styles. These include the Chronotimer Collection of chronographs inspired by the brand’s motorsport heritage, and the 1919 Collection, which pays tribute to Porsche’s Bauhaus-inspired design.

While at Baselworld 2016, Dr. Kurtzke shared his thoughts with iW regarding the brand’s new product introductions, new initiatives and the roots of the brand in motorsports. He also discussed the international award-winning Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See and its unique cooperation with the design and engineering teams at Porsche Automotive.
