Omega Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 Solar Impulse Limited Edition

This past July, Omega was a part of something truly incredible. On July 26th, 2016, Solar Impulse completed the first ever round-the-world flight only powered by the sun.

Like the Wright Brothers, a duo is once again innovating in the aviation industry. Pilots, Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg landed the plane in Abu Dhabi and were greeted by Omega on the ground. To celebrate this incredible achievement, the watchmaker introduces the grade 2 titanium Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 Solar Impulse Limited Edition.

The watch is powered by the multi-functional quartz chronograph movement, OMEGA calibre 5619, and its grade 2 titanium outer caseback is stamped with the Solar Impulse “Around the World” patch and engraved with the name of the timepiece as well as the words “TESTED AND QUALIFIED BY ESA” (European Space Agency).

The watch is a 1,924-piece limited edition.

About Omega
Omega has continually made significant contributions to the art of watchmaking since its founding in 1848. These include the calibre “Omega” introduced in 1894 and the “Marine” created in 1932. They range from the launch of the Speedmaster in 1957 to the Co-Axial calibres which took the horological industry by storm half a century later. While Omega has distinguished itself in a number of different professional areas, the brand has always remained true to the core identity it established more than 160 years ago: innovative watchmaker.
