GUCCI TIMEPIECES & JEWELRY TO SERVE AS PRESENTING SPONSOR OF THE 2014 LATIN RECORDING ACADEMY® PERSON OF THE YEAR GALA HONORING JOAN MANUEL SERRAT WITH SPECIAL PRESENTATION CELEBRATING BEST NEW ARTIST NOMINEES

Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry, an official partner of The Latin Recording Academy® and sponsor of the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards®, is pleased to serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2014 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year tribute gala honoring iconic singer songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat. This prestigious event will take place on November 19th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, the evening before the Biggest Night in Latin Music®. Immediately preceding the tribute gala, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry will host a special ceremony to present the nominees from the Best New Artist category with timepieces from the Gucci Latin GRAMMY® Collection.

The partnership between Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry and The Latin Recording Academy began in 2011 with the launch of a special-edition collection of timepieces and jewelry inspired by the eclectic world of Latin music. The Gucci Latin GRAMMY edition is composed by a trio of Interlocking timepieces available in 42mm and 37mm. The collection showcase the House’s signature GG motif around the bezel crafted in yellow gold PVD, and features a special case back with the words Latin GRAMMY Special Edition. The black dial recalls the grooves on a vinyl record with a highly original circular-grained surface and the black leather strap highlights a gramophone — the iconic symbol of the Latin GRAMMY. The 37mm version is also available on a white rubber strap with matching dial. A portion of the proceeds from all models in the Gucci Latin GRAMMY Collection benefit The Latin Recording Academy and its initiatives to support young and emerging artists and the philanthropic mission of The Latin GRAMMY Cultural FoundationTM.

In July, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry partnered with The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundationto bring Latin GRAMMY In The Schools to Lima, Peru. The educational program honored the work of Juan Diego Flórez and Sinfonia Por El Perú and gave young music students the opportunity to learn about the world that surrounds Latin music from a panel of experienced musicians. The program included a joint pledge with the Cultural Foundation and retail partner G&G Joyeros, of a significant donation in musical instruments.
