GUCCI TIMEPIECES & JEWELRY AND THE GRAMMY FOUNDATION HOST CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM FINALE CONCERT IN COLLABORATION WITH ASIA SOCIETY

Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry, The GRAMMY Foundation®, The Recording Academy® and the Asia Society hosted the finale concert of the GRAMMY® Cultural Exchange Program featuring The C.S.C.L.F. – Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Music Fund Quintet.  The Quintet was accompanied by alumni from the GRAMMY® Camp – Jazz Sessions program and performed classical and traditional Chinese music, jazz and pop selections including The Butterfly Lovers, Killer Joe, and the Overture to Candide.

The Quintet featured students studying at the Xi’an Conservatory of Music in China who, through the Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Music Fund established in 2012 under the aegis of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (C.S.C.L.F.), were invited to attend the GRAMMY Cultural Exchange Program in New York—a four-day cultural experience where they performed in a number of concerts designed to showcase their talents.

Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry currently operates three Music Funds in China, the United Kingdom and Japan in conjunction with a leading musical institution in its respective country with the mission to support talented young musicians by providing scholarships and opportunities for musical development within the framework of an international music exchange program.

iW’s Marketing Specialist Rachel Gold and Publisher Caroline Kallman Joffe attended the music-filled evening in New York: The young adults from this year’s GRAMMY® Cultural Exchange Program did not disappoint, Gold said. The level of musicianship was truly amazing as the evening kicked off with a performance by The C.S.C.L.F Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Music Fund Quintet followed by the Alumni GRAMMY Camp® Band. The real treat was when all of the musicians took the stage with a final number directed by Grammy Foundation Executive Educational Director, David Sears! Incredible. The entire iW team sends a big round of applause to last night’s performers – this was an evening to remember.
