Zenith: Racing in 2016

After running in the Tour Auto Optic 2000 and gearing up for the Distinguised Gentleman’s Ride in September, Zentih celebrates classic motorsports in 2016.

Aldo Magada, CEO of Zenith Watches Replica in the El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Tour Auto Edition

The icon of this idea is the El Primero, and one of the editions celebrating an auto race was the El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Tour Auto Edition. The El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Tour Auto Edition timepiece is driven by the El Primero 4061 automatic chronograph. Fitted with a silicon lever and escape wheel, this 232-part movement drives central hours and minutes, along with a chronograph and tachymeter functions, while insuring a 50-hour power reserve. The 42mm brushed stainless steel watch has a transparent sapphire crystal caseback with the Tour Auto logo. This year’s edition, Zenith’s second, features a gray dial and gray fabric strap.

Zenith Heritage Pilot Ton-up (Café Racer-inspired)

The watch that is behind Vincent Steinmann, the Marketing & Communication Director of Zenith in the video is the Heritage Pilot Ton-up, which was inspired by the Café Racer, a lightweight motorcycle reminiscent of 1960s Grand Prix motorcycles. Like Zenith’s watches replica, the bikes focused on design and engineering equally. The bikes were used primarily by the rock and roll counterculture, and Zenith hopes to attract a younger generation to their watches replica.

The Heritage Pilot Ton-up was a release at Baselworld this year and was a great addition to their pilot’s collection. The aged stainless steel case stands out in the collection and in the watch world in general. Functions include hours and minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock and a chronograph (central chronograph hands and 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock). The watch is placed on a green oily nubuck leather strap with protective rubber lining and a titanium pin buckle.
