Basically, the goal of Anonimo was going to create a brand that would help keep the Florentine watch creating traditions alive by pairing Italian designs and instances with Swiss-made mechanical motions. Since Anonimo in 1 way or the other substituted Panerai in Florence, it primarily concentrated on designing divers’ watches. Overall, it was a successful concept as (despite its short history) the newest immediately gained a cult following; something that still exists, especially when it comes to enjoying some of the prior models. In September 2011, the creator Federico Massacesi left the business to a different ownership and – truth be told – we’ve not heard much from Anonimo ever since. Late last year nonetheless, I was one of the handful of people who were invited by the new owners to Florence to go to the workshop in which their famous bronze cases will be made, and to look at some early prototypes.Anonimo had, with no shadow of a doubt, turned into a brand that was fairly difficult to make sense of. With some iconic patents and layouts (and some not so good ones,) the brand turned into one of these tiny businesses with a exceptional personality, something people could more closely relate to. For today we can report on the quality of the bronze instances – which is very high in its every detail – and the overall design principles the brand laid out to pursue.
