Keeping time, keeping with tradition: The M 29 Classic

Mühle-Glashütte watches replica are first and foremost precision timekeeping instruments. This awareness of their function comes from over 140 years of tradition in the production of precision measuring instruments by this Glashütte family business. And no watch produced by Mühle-Glashütte reflects this history more clearly than the new M 29 Classic – the dial of this cleanly designed timepiece is inspired by the historic Model 29 indicator gauge produced by Robert Mühle.

In 1869, Robert Mühle began making precise measuring instruments for the Glashütte watch industry. The highest possible precision and the exact readability of the measured values were hallmarks of the instruments he produced. To this day, Mühle-Glashütte maintains a strong commitment to these values in the production of its high quality wristwatches. This is particularly evident in the new M 29 Classic.

The fine, crystal-clear scaling of this timepiece is unmistakably inspired by the historic Model 29 indicator gauge produced by Robert Mühle & Son. While the Model 29 displayed accurate measurements up to a hundredth of a millimeter, the M 29 Classic affords the wearer accurate time reading down to the second – with just a glance. The black hour and minute scale and finely cut, dark hands are clearly offset from the crème-colored dial. Red indicators serve as orientation points – just like on the Model 29 – giving this fine watch its instrument-like character, with the red framing of the date display completing this image. The 42.4 millimeter watch case is supported by a wristband made of fine, brown calf’s leather.

In addition to its precision and easy readability, the M 29 Classic is distinguished by its exemplary robustness, which it owes to the recent history of Mühle-Glashütte. Thanks to the production of ships’ clocks and nautical instruments, which began after the reunification of Germany, Mühle was able to perfect the precision of its timepieces under all usage conditions.

The self-winding, automatic mechanism of the M 29 Classic is equipped with the patented and particularly shockproof woodpecker neck regulator, while the robust watch case comes with a screw-in crown and shield and is waterproof up to 10 bar. It is thus reminiscent of another Mühle-Glashütte nautical timepiece: the 29 Big, which was named after a class of sailing boat and whose design contributes the polished, stainless steel case to the M 29 Classic.

Thus the M 29 Classic combines nautical ruggedness and precision with the dial design of historic Mühle indicator gauges, making it not only a timepiece in its most elemental form, but also a perfect reminder of the history at Mühle-Glashütte, where a passion for precision measuring instruments seamlessly melds with nautical tradition. The M 29 Classic: a fine timepiece where keeping time keeps with tradition.

About Mühle-Glashütte GmbH

Mühle-Glashütte GmbH develops and manufactures high-quality ships’ timepieces, marine chronometers and mechanical wristwatches. In this the Glashütte company places great emphasis on the excellent legibility and accuracy of its timepieces. Because the name Mühle has long stood for precision and precise measurement. The foundation stone for this was laid by Robert Mühle. In 1869 he founded a family-run company in Glashütte to produce precise measurement instruments for the local watch industry. The direction followed by the present-day company emerged under the management of the fourth generation of the family. Since 1994 it has gone by the name of Mühle-Glashütte GmbH nautische Instrumente und Feinmechanik, equipping cruise ships of the AIDA fleet and luxury yachts with marine time systems and chronometers. The fact that the nautical characteristics required in this – namely precision, legibility and reliability – are also reflected in the Mühle wristwatches is particularly important to Thilo Mühle. With him the family-run company now has its fifth generation at the helm.
