Celebrating 85 years since its introduction, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso has been a focus of some well-deserved attention this year. Just prior to SIHH we saw timepieces within two newly defined Reverso collections: Reverso Classic and Reverso Tribute. And at SIHH in Geneva in mid-January, the Reverso One was formally introduced, comprising three models: Reverso One Réédition, Cordonnet, and Duetto Moon. The ultra-complicated Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon, the first gyrotourbillon with two sides, was also shown.
The Reverso One High Jewelry shown here (Reference 3363490) is a feminine confection inspired by an early ladies Reverso model, from the 1930s. It is crafted in white gold and houses the manually wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 844 with a 38-hour power reserve. It features hours and minutes on both front and back.
The signature swiveling case measures in at 36.3mm by 18mm, and the dual dials are dressed in mother-of-pearl with Arabic numerals on one side and black aventurine with diamond-set hour markers radiating from center on the other. Both are framed by three rows of baguette-cut diamonds. The dauphine-style hands offer elegant time telling.
If you’re counting, there are 250 diamonds, totaling about 5.65 carats. With all that sparkle, the watch’s simple black satin strap with a white gold clasp is a perfect counterpoint.
