Bulgari presents a Black Octo for Men and Seductive Gems for Women in 2016.
The future is dark for Bulgari’s men’s watches replica. More specifically that future means black D.L.C.-coated titanium cases. For the 2016 men’s models, Bulgari focuses on Octo debuts called Octo Ultranero, three models (for now) with black cases, black rubber straps and rose gold accents. Depending on the Ultranero model, wearers can choose between an all-black watch in D.L.C.-coated steel fitted with a black rubber strap and pink gold hands, bezel and hour-markers, or an all-black case and bezel with pink-gold-plated markers and pink gold crown. All Ultranero models feature Bulgari-made movements.
Recall that the modern Octo became a mainstay in Bulgari’s collection about four years ago after years of variations derived from the original Gerald Genta Octo designs. The originals were thicker and generally featured complications. The newer Octo collection has been a major success for Bulgari, particularly as its streamlined octagon-in-a-circle began to be set with clean, beautifully finished Bulgari dials. More recently Bulgari developed the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon, a record-breaking ultra-thin tourbillon that maintains the allure of the Octo shape, but in a thinner, darker guise. These models represent an early set of debuts for Bulgari. Expect much more from this extremely active brand at Baselworld in March.
Octo Finissimo Tourbillon
The top of the range in the new Octo Ultranero collection is the Octo Ultranero Finissimo Tourbillon, set with one of the world’s thinnest mechanical tourbillon movements, the Bulgari BVL 268 Finissimo. The slim 40mm case, which originally debuted to much applause two years ago, is made seemingly sportier this year with black D.L.C.-coated titanium. The mechanical heart of the watch, the flying tourbillon measuring all of 1.95mm thick, incorporates pink gold elements that match the pink gold markers and hands, all set amid a rich black lacquer dial. Holding it all on the wrist is a black alligator strap and titanium pin buckle with black D.L.C. treatment.
Octo Velocissimo
The chronograph in the new collection also sports a black D.L.C. treatment, but unlike the Finissimo Tourbillon the bezel here remains pink gold. Inside the 41mm case beats a high-frequency Caliber BVL 328, a Bulgari-specific version of the El Primero 36,000 bph column-wheel chronograph caliber with silicon escapement that originates with Zenith, which, like Bulgari, falls under the LVMH umbrella. The wearer can marvel at the movement from the sapphire caseback and also enjoy the black lacquered dial and hand-applied pink gold plated hour-markers. As a chronograph, the watch asserts additional sportiness with an integrated rubber strap and steel pin buckle with black D.L.C. treatment.
Octo Solotempo
With simple time and date displays, these two new 41mm black-cased watches replica offer a choice between an all-black or gold and black finish. One offers a pink gold bezel while the other blackens the bezel with the same black Diamond Like Carbon (D.L.C.) that darkens the case. Clearly bolder than previous steel or gold examples of Octo, the newest models feature in-house Bulgari Caliber BVL 193 decorated with circular graining, Côtes de Genève, chamfering and snailed finishing. Both offer a black lacquered polished dial with hand-applied pink gold plated hour-markers.
For Women: Gems & Serpents
Serpenti Incantati
With the Serpenti Incantati, Bulgari varies its long-successful Serpenti theme. Incantati means enchanting in Italian and Bulgari charms the snake in a high-jeweled fashion. For the very first time, the Serpenti coils around the watch dial. Each part of the head and body of the snake has been entirely rethought and redesigned in a contemporary manner. Even the precious dial is new.
In addition, Bulgari this year adds two limited edition Serpenti watches replica. On one, the double wrap-around bracelet and the head are set with diamonds, while eyes are set with either emerald or ruby. The lacquer coloring these models are created by intense lacquers: one in black. The other one, with red ruby eyes, features a green lacquer coil.
Tubogas
Two new Tubogas bracelets are new in 2016. One of the articulated bracelets is all polished steel while the other combines chrome and gold as Bulgari’s asserts its mastery of metalwork. Diva
Also for 2016 Bulgari adds watch references to its Diva collection. Inspired by the mosaics seen at Rome’s Caracalla thermal baths, Diva features an arcing pattern where the satin strap meets the case. The unusual articulated and jeweled component there, while not a set of standard lugs, serves to connect the strap to the case comfortably. Bulgari also adds another unusual feature: a natural acetate dial made from a mix of wood and cotton fibers. Acetate is an organic material that can be polished to create interesting light effects that Bulgari uses here to reflect light from the Diva’s 30mm white gold case. The acetate dial also is highly malleable and makes a perfect match for the diamond hours and minutes markers. Bulgari adds a tourmaline cabochon to the crown. The new Diva will also be made in a white gold version with a fully paved diamond dial.
Piccola Lucea
Bulgari’s Lucea collection, already a mainstay within its offering for women, this year adds a smaller-sized sister collection called Piccola Lucea. This new version of Lucea watch has been redesigned in a daintier diameter in part to make it more attractive as a both a daytime watch and as a nighttime jewelry watch, according to Bulgari. The new pink gold or white gold case measures 23 mm and fits to five debut models with and without diamonds set on the bezel and bracelet. You’ll find a pink cabochon-cut stone and a diamond on each crown with the exception of the snow-set diamond dial model, which features a blue sapphire crown topped with a diamond.
