Andy Murray stars in new global advertising campaign for Rado
(Lengnau, Switzerland – June 2014) Tennis superstar Andy Murray is the star of the new print advertising campaign for his official watch partner, Rado. A global ambassador for the Swiss brand since May 2012, Andy features in a range of action shots on court.
The photo shoot took place in Valencia, Spain on May 1st at the end of Andy’s clay court training block, and directly before the start of the clay court season. In each shot, Andy is wearing his Rado HyperChrome Automatic Chronograph from the Court Collection: the watch he wore when lifting the trophy as he became the first British man to win Wimbledon for 77 years in 2013. The watch has green details and reflects Andy’s mastery of the grass court. Shooting the action pictures is incredibly difficult, due to the speed of Andy’s serve. The shutter speed of the camera was set to 1/800th second – making Andy’s movement faster than a racing car. These are generally shot at 1/400th – 1/600th of a second. The new campaign starts running globally from June 2014.
